Visiting Charlton Down Garden events
Charlton Down House, an 184 acre equestrian estate encompassing extensive domestic gardens and well-stocked herbaceous borders.
The 1840s Cotswold vernacular house with outbuildings has been restored, domesticated and developed by the current owners.
An enclosed garden leads off the main house, showcasing mature topiary. The large walled garden with a greenhouse is cultivated for organic cut flowers and vegetables. A further series of garden rooms are delineated by beech hedges or dry-stone walls.
A stunning classical pavilion overlooks the swimming pool and wooded lawn.
The rapidly maturing copse was planted in 2012 with English native trees.
Charlton Down is also home to animals, some rescued, including chickens, ponies, and goats.
Ample parking; Teas and homemade cakes in the Barn.
As this is a private family home only the gardens are open to the public on the select days below.
